Take Back Your Summer!
Here at Teacher’s Pet we understand how incredibly stressful these last few months have been for everyone around the world. Parents, children, key workers, and teachers alike have all had their lives changed during this time of great uncertainty.
Throughout this time we have tried out best to help out parents and teachers so that they still have access to our huge catalogue of resources as well as our Home Learning Packs.
Right now, the Summer Holidays have just begun; this means that everyone should have the chance to wind down and relax after a very stressful few months. However, for teachers this year they won’t have that same time to stretch out and relax. Right now they’ll be planning to ramp up again to plan for the new school year as students, both new and old, return to school.
The workload for teachers will be much larger than usual this time around. Alongside regular lesson plans; they will have to work in the new government guidelines as well as planning on being able to help the children navigate the strange and confusing times that Covid 19 has left us in.
We here at Teacher’s Pet appreciate how much teachers care about their profession, the amount of effort they put into planning each and every single year, the amount of personal time they give up throughout their day to help students and parents out. It is above and beyond commendable and we want to help take the pressure off as best as we can, so that they can enjoy their summer just as much as everyone else.
Starting this week and carrying on for another four weeks, we will be providing resource packs helping teachers to Take Back Their Summer.
This week is all to do with Meeting and Greeting your new class.
Coming back to school can be scary, whether you’re a returning pupil or just starting out in your first year. As a teacher it is your priority to help make this transition period as smooth and as stress-free as possible. Helping students to integrate into their new class seamlessly is the first hurdle of this scary prospect. Being there to help your students to get to know each other, as well as yourself, will be one of the best ways to help alleviate this stress.
Providing an environment that is both welcoming and calming will help your new or returning students settle into the classroom much easier.
Just below is a small example of what we have in our new Meet and Greet Resource Pack:
All of us here are very excited to finally be releasing these packs to you and we have much more in store over the coming weeks so please make sure to keep an eye on our social media platforms, as well as the front page of our site for any new and exciting updates regarding Take Back Your Summer.
