Imaginative play sits at the heart of EYFS learning, and EYFS monsters and aliens activities support children as they explore creative ideas through storytelling, role play and expressive art. Activities linked to monsters and aliens encourage pupils to invent characters, describe imaginary worlds and communicate their ideas with confidence. Within early years classrooms, these themes are often used to develop speaking and listening, early writing, drawing and collaborative play. Using EYFS monsters and aliens activities allows practitioners to build curiosity and creativity while supporting key areas of learning such as communication and language, expressive arts and design, and personal, social and emotional development.
