KS1 story wheels and maps comprehension activities help pupils organise their understanding of texts. Pupils map key events, characters and settings in a clear visual format. In Year 1 and Year 2 English lessons, children use story wheels and story maps to sequence events and retell narratives. They also identify important details in fiction and simple non-fiction. Regular use of KS1 story wheels and maps comprehension activities supports vocabulary development and secure comprehension in line with KS1 National Curriculum expectations.
