Developing problem-solving skills in time helps KS1 pupils apply their understanding of clocks and daily routines to practical situations. These time problem solving KS1 maths activities encourage children to use o’clock and half past times, sequence events and reason about durations in familiar classroom and real-life contexts. Learning focuses on talking through methods, using time vocabulary accurately and making simple decisions based on given information. In KS1 classrooms, time problem solving KS1 maths activities support deeper thinking and help pupils move beyond telling the time to applying it with confidence.
