Exploring fairness, equality and social justice can help pupils develop empathy and a deeper understanding of the world around them.

Our Stephen Lawrence KS2 teaching resources support meaningful classroom discussions inspired by Benjamin Zephaniah’s powerful poem and its exploration of Stephen Lawrence’s legacy. Through reflective activities and thoughtful discussion, these Stephen Lawrence KS2 teaching resources encourage pupils to consider themes of identity, diversity, respect and the impact of racism. The resources help children analyse poetry, interpret illustrations and evaluate how authors communicate important messages. They also provide valuable links to PSHE, citizenship and English, supporting critical thinking and respectful conversation around significant social issues.

Thanks to our partnership with Hachette Children’s Group, all of these curriculum-linked resources are completely free to download, giving teachers high-quality materials to support informed and impactful learning.
