This pack contains a set of 8 teaching games that are perfect for remote learning.
The pack includes:
Take Off, Sit Down
You and the children will love playing this fun game which gets you all up and moving! You say statements and the children take off (stand up) to agree or stay sat down if they don’t. Children will practise their listening and understand skills as well as begin to understand how they are similar and different to others. Lots of fun!
Pictionary
You and the children will love playing Pictionary! It is a fun game which gets you drawing, thinking and laughing. Choose what you are going to draw and have your friends try and guess what It Is before even finishing the picture. It doesn’t matter if you aren’t Picasso; It’s just lots of fun!
The Memory Game
You and the children will love playing The Memory Game. All you need is a tray and some familiar objects. You show the children the objects, then you take one object away and the children have to spot which one. It’s a great game for developing memory muscle!
Charades
Children will love playing the classic game of charades with you and with each other. Get your best acting skills out but remember to not use your voice! Choose familiar things for the children to act out and have fun guessing what you are trying to do.
Guess My Number
This game is a fun way to get children thinking about numbers, how they are composed, the sequence they sit in and how they are written. Choose a number and see If the children can guess one It Is. You could say phrases like “I am two more than 12. Who am I?” or use the cards provided. Remember to differentiate the questions so all your learners can access the game.
Guess the Book
This game is a fun way to get children thinking about familiar stories and their characters and main events. The aim of this game is to guess the title of the familiar stories after listening to or reading clues about it. Clues can be phrases from the text, images, what characters say… We think children are going to love this game.
The Initial Sound Game
This game is a fun way to get children tuning into sounds and thinking. There is also a slight competitive element to it that will inspire some children. Pick a sound and write down words that begin with that sound for different categories e.g. names, foods, animals… You can adapt this game to suit the needs of your children e.g. by just choosing one category or by saying the word out loud. We love this game!
Would You Rather
Would you rather is such a popular game with children. This game is a fun way to develop children’s listening and thinking skills as well as developing their understanding of opinions. Simply say which statement you would rather choose! We have some example cards for you to use or you could make up your own!

Copyright update regarding 'Home Learning Resource Packs'
Our standard terms, conditions and copyright rules restrict the direct sharing of our resources through online portals, shared drives, school websites and social media. We also ask that resources are not printed and shared amongst teachers.
However we realise that due to the current climate and the nature of these home learning packs means that these rules are restricting the main purpose of the packs: helping teachers to provide a structured home learning experience for their classes.
With this in mind, this, and our other 'Home Learning Resource Packs' will be exempt from the above rules. We do however ask that the packs are not made available for PUBLIC download through any means and are only shared with your immediate colleagues and the parents of the children in your school. Where possible, please continue to direct other teachers to our website to download the resources for themselves.
These amended rules will remain in place for the duration of the school closures. Once the closures are at an end our standard copyright rules, terms and conditions will come back into place and we would expect all copies of the resources as to be removed from shared drives, parent/teacher portals and all services such as see-saw etc.
Thank you for your cooperation.
