Patch’s Routine Activity | Length, Height and Time | Week 7 Reception Spring Maths

This practical activity supports children in developing an understanding of time, order and sequencing by organising the steps of Patch’s morning routine. Children place picture cards in the correct order using a structured grid, exploring what happens first, next, then, after and finally.

The activity encourages children to talk about sequences of events, link routines to time concepts such as minutes and timers, and apply their understanding by sequencing their own daily activities. It provides rich opportunities for discussion, reasoning and vocabulary development, and is fully aligned with White Rose Maths Block 4: Length, Height and Time and the EYFS framework.
