Shape Builder Tuff Tray | Manipulate, Compose and Decompose | Week 5 Reception Summer Maths

This creative tuff tray pack supports children in selecting, rotating and combining shapes to create a new badge for Inspector Nelly.
Using a star template, children experiment with fitting different shapes together, manipulating them to complete the design.

Children are encouraged to explain their choices and describe how they have positioned each shape, using vocabulary such as rotate, flip, next to and position.
The activity promotes spatial reasoning and helps children understand how shapes can be combined to create new forms, supporting deeper understanding of composition.
