Mother’s Day My Special Mum Tuff Tray Pack

Celebrate Mother’s Day in your Early Years setting with this engaging Mother’s Day Tuff Tray Pack, designed to encourage children to talk about the special people in their lives while developing early language and literacy skills.
This interactive tuff tray invites children to describe what makes their mum (or special grown-up) unique.
Using sentence starters, question prompts, descriptive word cards and photo inspiration, children can explore ideas, develop vocabulary and share personal experiences.

The activity encourages meaningful conversation, supports early sentence building and provides opportunities for children to express appreciation for the important people in their lives.
The main activity prompt asks children “What makes your mum special to you?” (page 2), while supporting resources such as word labels like love, care, support, hugs, laugh and treats help children describe their ideas (pages 6–7).
The pack also includes eye and hair colour cards (page 5) and photo cards to encourage observation and discussion.

What’s Included:

  • Mother’s Day tuff tray activity banner

  • Question prompt speech bubbles
