Pancake Day Phonics CVC Tuff Tray Pack

Can the children build the CVC words to match the photos?

A simple pancake day and Shrove Tuesday themed phonics activity for you to set up in your tuff tray, helping to assess children’s ability to blend and segment simple CVC words.

Simply provide each child with a pancake to build their word on. Allow the children to pick a photo card and then use the strawberry letters to build the word.

The pack contains:
A challenge card
Pancake CVC building mats
CVC word picture cards
CVC strawberry letter cards

You could swap using the strawberry letters for objects you already have, e.g. wooden letters.
Alternatively, laminate the pancakes and have whiteboard markers in the tray for children to write out the cvc words in the blank strawberries.
