Seasons Sorting UTW Tuff Tray Pack

Help children recognise and talk about the characteristics of the four seasons with this Season Sorting activity, created to accompany Tree: Seasons Come, Seasons Go by Patricia Hegarty and Britta Teckentrup.

The resource includes illustrated spring, summer, autumn and winter sorting mats, alongside a collection of real-life photographs for children to match to the appropriate season.
The photographs feature seasonal clues from the natural world, including icicles, birds’ eggs, sunflowers, a hibernating badger, autumn leaves, blossom, snowflakes, conkers, pinecones, acorns and a bee.

Children can look closely at each photograph, decide which season it belongs to and explain the reasons for their choice.
The activity provides lots of opportunities for discussion about weather, plants, animals and how the natural world changes throughout the year.

With both colour and black-and-white versions included, this is a versatile addition to continuous provision, adult-led group work or an Early Years seasons topic.
