Stoke on Trent Local History The Potteries Photo Analysis

This activity will ask children to analyse a photograph of a marl pit. The image is packed full of details that can be discussed to learn about how clay was retrieved and then used in the potteries.
There is an accompanying teacher’s notes page to help you ensure that you have the correct terminology for the things that they see. Perfect for teaching local history in KS2.

Available in a variety of fonts and in colour and printer friendly versions.

We have a wide range of resources about the history of Stoke’s pottery industry and its importance to the surrounding area, for use by schools in Stoke-on-Trent and further afield in Staffordshire.

Based around enquiry questions, we provide relevant source material and engaging activities that will bring your local history to life.
