The Big Bird Watch – Create Your Own Bird Fact Files

The Big Bird Watch – Create Your Own Bird Fact Files

This resource includes 24 individual A5 sheets, each featuring a distinct and unique bird that would be found in the UK! Children can try and spot their bird and draw a picture or make notes about it, such as where they found it, what its habitat is like (did it have a nest in the trees?) or something interesting they notice about the bird’s behaviour.

Upon completing the sheet, they will have a handy fact file about that particular bird. Children could try to complete all 24 as a class and then you could bind them in a book to keep in the classroom.

The Big Garden Birdwatch is an event that takes place each year, usually at the end of January – encouraging children to make note of birds they see in the wild and submit results to the RSPB charity. It is a way to encourage children to take notice of the wildlife available on their doorstep and also learn to care for it.
