Winter CVC Hot Chocolate Tuff Tray Pack

Can the children build the CVC words to match the photos?

A simple Christmas, Winter or Polar Express themed phonics activity for you to set up in your tuff tray, helping to assess children’s ability to blend and segment simple CVC words.

Simply provide each child with a Hot Chocolate Mug to build their word on. Allow the children to pick a photo card and then use the marshmallow letters to build the word.

The pack contains:

  • A challenge card
  • Hot Chocolate Mug CVC building mats
  • CVC word picture cards
  • CVC marshmallow letter cards

You could swap using the marshmallow cards for letter objects you already have, e.g. wooden letters.
Alternatively, laminate the mugs and have whiteboard markers in the tray for children to
write out the cvc words in the blank marshmallows.
