The next KS1 PowerPoint in our Waves of Wellbeing series introduces you to the Sea Otter, to help children understand the importance of dealing with loneliness and developing friendships and other relationships, as well as enjoying time spent on our own.
Our KS1 PowerPoint, suitable for children in year 1 and year 2 (aged 5-7), is brand new to our wellbeing series and contains everything you need for your wellbeing lesson. The PowerPoint has handy buttons, allowing you to skip to the animated story, the talk and task section or the journal.
The animated story in the PowerPoint introduces the children to Ruby the Diver, the Sea Otter, and the theme of dealing with loneliness.
The talk and task section helps the children to understand loneliness, what to do when you feel lonely and how you can help others that might be feeling lonely.
Finally, the Journal section plays mindful music and simple animation, for you to play whilst the children calmly complete their journal and mindful colouring exercise for the week.
Let our array of under the sea creatures teach the children about their amazing attributes that link to lots of different wellbeing themes, from coping with changes to understanding grief, to help improve wellbeing and give the children new skills. Download a range of resources to use at home or in the classroom.

Copyright update regarding 'Home Learning Resource Packs'
Our standard terms, conditions and copyright rules restrict the direct sharing of our resources through online portals, shared drives, school websites and social media. We also ask that resources are not printed and shared amongst teachers.
However we realise that due to the current climate and the nature of these home learning packs means that these rules are restricting the main purpose of the packs: helping teachers to provide a structured home learning experience for their classes.
With this in mind, this, and our other 'Home Learning Resource Packs' will be exempt from the above rules. We do however ask that the packs are not made available for PUBLIC download through any means and are only shared with your immediate colleagues and the parents of the children in your school. Where possible, please continue to direct other teachers to our website to download the resources for themselves.
These amended rules will remain in place for the duration of the school closures. Once the closures are at an end our standard copyright rules, terms and conditions will come back into place and we would expect all copies of the resources as to be removed from shared drives, parent/teacher portals and all services such as see-saw etc.
Thank you for your cooperation.
