Year 1 Bonfire Night Story Based Comprehension – Fireworks Fundraiser

Join Winnie and her friends as they enjoy celebrating Bonfire Night at their school fireworks fundraiser in this Teacher’s Pet original short story.

With hot dogs, candy floss and flying fireworks in the November sky, this short story allows Year 1 children to learn about ‘Gunpowder, treason and plot’ and the ways in which people celebrate and enjoy different activities on Bonfire Night.

With supporting comprehension questions to use alongside this resource, children can read the text and then answer them independently, with a partner or even verbally.
Allow children to also share their own knowledge or experiences of Fireworks night together.
