This lesson plan for the 2nd lesson in the sequence will provide a structured lesson that utilises the varied resources that we have available to support teaching the Animal including Humans section of the Year 6 science curriculum.

Our science curriculum is like no other, getting the children to adopt the roles of various scientists as they work their way through each area of the science curriculum.

Within the Science unit, there are 5 lessons to follow, all of which come with planning, activities and teaching aids. In addition you will find, knowledge organisers, display resources, assessment activities and a 5-week planning overview.
Where appropriate, the children will also learn about real-life people within the field of science. By the time children reach year 6, they will investigate and debate who they think has made the greatest contribution to the field of science.
Each science unit has an allocated science role. In this unit, children will adopt the role of a real-life cardiologist. They will learn about the skills needed for the role and have a go at these within practical lessons.
C.R.E.A.T.E. Science is all about working scientifically, using real skills and types of enquiry and this is reflected in our chosen project name:

Copyright update regarding 'Home Learning Resource Packs'
Our standard terms, conditions and copyright rules restrict the direct sharing of our resources through online portals, shared drives, school websites and social media. We also ask that resources are not printed and shared amongst teachers.
However we realise that due to the current climate and the nature of these home learning packs means that these rules are restricting the main purpose of the packs: helping teachers to provide a structured home learning experience for their classes.
With this in mind, this, and our other 'Home Learning Resource Packs' will be exempt from the above rules. We do however ask that the packs are not made available for PUBLIC download through any means and are only shared with your immediate colleagues and the parents of the children in your school. Where possible, please continue to direct other teachers to our website to download the resources for themselves.
These amended rules will remain in place for the duration of the school closures. Once the closures are at an end our standard copyright rules, terms and conditions will come back into place and we would expect all copies of the resources as to be removed from shared drives, parent/teacher portals and all services such as see-saw etc.
