Zones of Self-Regulation Emotions Self Regulation Fan

Zones of Self-Regulation Emotions Self Regulation Fan

A must-have for any Early Years, Key Stage 1 or even Key Stage 2 classroom.

This tool allows children to identify which ‘zone’ their current feelings and emotions fall into.

When pupils are able to self-regulate their emotions, they are in a better position to be able to direct their efforts towards a goal and can achieve this despite changing/challenging situations.

Emotional self-regulation helps pupils develop resilient attitudes and primes them for learning and success.

Our self-regulation fan includes emotions from the four zones and shows the emotions in emoji format.

Teaching self-regulation comes in four easy zones:

Blue Zone – Sad, Sick, Tired or Bored

Green Zone – Happy, Calm, Relaxed or Proud

Yellow Zone – Frustrated, Worried, Silly or Excited

Red Zone – Out of control, Terrified, Mean or Angry

Why not attach the fan to your own lanyard ready to share with the children to assess their emotions together?
