Holocaust Memorial Day
On January 27th 1945, the Red Army liberated the largest concentration camp, Auschwitz, in southern Poland. Since that day we have commemorated each year by remembering all those who were lost during genocides that have happened throughout history .
The theme for Holocaust Memorial Day 2021 is Be the light in the darkness. This is to encourage everyone to reflect how humanity can fall but also to see the ways individuals and communities resisted that darkness to become the light before, during and after genocide.
