There are two differentiated E-Books available; one for Early Years & KS1 and the other is written for both lower as well as upper KS2.
Journal and Task Card
This week our amazing journal activity and task card are all about forgiveness, giving opportunity for disccusion later on.

Our task card and journal are great together as they are designed to help the children further embed what they have learnt from the animation and digital E-Book.

Our task card is a brillaint resource to use with the whole class, as it provides an opportunity for disccusion on some of the ways in which we can show our forgiveness.

Forgiveness Activities
“We must develop and maintain the capacity to forgive. He who is devoid of the power to forgive is devoid of the power to love. There is some good in the worst of us and some evil in the best of us. When we discover this, we are less prone to hate our enemies.”
Martin Luther King Jr
Learning to forgive and asking for forgiveness helps children form healthy relationships with family, friends and themselves. It helps them let go of grudges. Leads to healthier relationships, improved self-esteem.
The full list of benefits to learning about forgiveness is immeasurable.
Sometimes for children, asking for forgiveness is difficult as they don’t want to admit negative behaviour or actions. They need to see forgiveness in action to understand its power, making adult modelling and support important.
Films, games and books are sometimes some of the best teachers for young children. The themes and lessons that are present in every story help to teach children through their use of parables.
There is a whole range of stories that can be looked upon in order to provide examples of forgiveness.
The Tale of Despereaux has multiple instances of forgiveness within its story – both the book and the animated movie are great things to lean on – illustrating both sides; characters who forgive those who have wronged them and other characters who choose not to forgive.
Another fantastic example is The Lion King. Opening up space for discussion on forgiving yourself – as well as seeking forgiveness from others. This type of forgiveness can, for some people, almost be as difficult as learning to forgive someone else.
