In our E-Book for this week, we meet Min and Mei The Magpie Mates.
Min and Mei’s E-Book discusses the idea of friendships and positive relationships.
There are two differentiated E-Books available; one for Early Years & KS1 and the other is written for both lower as well as upper KS2.
Journal and Task Card
This week our amazing journal activity and task card are all about friendships and discussing what a good friend looks like to us, and what it means to us about being a good friend.
Our task card and journal are great together as they are designed to help the children further embed what they have learnt from the animation and digital E-Book.
Our task card is a brillaint resource to use with the whole class, as it explains this weeks theme of friendship through a whole class roleplay activity.
Friendship Activities and Videos
Being a friend to someone means something different to everyone.
Why not go around the classroom and ask all the children what they believe it means to be a friend to someone.
For some, it might be being there for the other person, it could be sharing a pencil during a lesson, playing games together. Every single child will have their own views and ideas on this topic.
Utilising our Journal activity to further draw upon this line of discussion, on what it means to be a good friend is a great place to start.
This fantastic video by the International Day of Friendship illustrates how everyone will have their own perspective on what friendship means.
The YouTube channel “Oh My Disney” made this fantastic compilation video of their favourite Disney and Disney-Pixar BFF moments in this friendly supercut. Celebrate friendship with Anna, Elsa, Buzz, Woody, Simba, Nala, Aladdin, Genie and many more.
