Introducing Roger The Routine Rooster!
Hello everyone, I’m happy to once again be the member of the team to talk about and introduce… Wellbeing Wednesday.Visit Roger’s Resource ‘Hub’ Now!
Now just before we get started with a meet and greet of the ‘Wellbeing Flock’, there is one little change from Wellbeing Wednesdays of the past.
This time around we have decided to change up how we release our resources. As ever, Week One will be completely free; however, we have decided to release Wellbeing Wednesday in three separate batches: Weeks One to Four, Five to Eight and Nine through to Twelve.
This decision comes as we want to better help teachers have time to get to grips with the resources and have more time to plan their lessons around our resources.
As well as this, we have been working harder than ever to bring you more differentiated resources with this term of Wellbeing. Our redesigned task cards have been separated into EYFS, KS1, LKS2 & UKS2. Our immensely popular E-Books from last year have also been updated to better differentiate between EYFS/KS1 and KS2 books.
Having been introduced during our term of Wellbeing Monsters, we have also created fully differentiated journal activities.
And lastly, just like our Superhero term of Wellbeing, all of our animations for this term will be totally free, available on Teacher’s Pet as well as available to view on YouTube and Vimeo.
During Week One we will meet Roger The Routine Rooster; as well as a very familiar looking egg.
Roger is here to help teach children about routine and its importance in mental health.
Each week a brand new amazing animation will be available for you and your class to watch for free!
This week in our Wellbeing Flock; we meet Roger The Routine Rooster.
We join him as he wakes up the rest of the farm with a fresh cup of coffee in his wings, and a morning crow in his chest.
But, oh, what’s this? An egg appears out of nowhere!
It looks as if it’s getting ready to go on a journey, so Roger imparts a lesson that he’s learnt about routine and how it affects mental health.
Each week there is a teacher guide for EYFS, KS1, Lower KS2 as well as Upper KS2.
Each of these individual teacher guides will include:
- What the children will learn
- Vocabulary & Questions
- The teaching and learning sequence
- A brief overview
- Resources needed, both for this week and the following week
Each week a fantastic E-Book will be available to download!
The E-Book continues and builds upon the story from the animation. It narrates a short story in which we meet the new bird from the Wellbeing Flock, where they are from and what we can learn from them about their individual theme.
There are two differentiated E-Books available; one for Early Years & KS1 and the other is written for both lower as well as upper KS2.
Journal and Task Card
The journal activity allows children to embed what they have learnt from the Animation, digital E-Book and Task Card.
The task card is a great introductory resource as it explains what the theme is and includes important vocabulary and any key questions that could be used with the children.
Alongside all of these amazing resources, we also have some brand new, additional resources available which can be used to enhance your teaching even further!
Remember, Week One is completely free to download and use in your classroom!
The Display Focus provides you with resources to add to your wellbeing display each week; including a wall display, character passport which are differentiated for EYFS/KS1 & Lower and Upper KS2, all of which relate to that week’s individual theme!
Along with all of these, there are large mindful colouring sheets featuring this week’s Wellbeing Bird and a set of differentiated quotes and statements.
Perfect for children to unleash their creativity! Whilst being mindful of the quotes and statements on the pages.Visit Roger’s Resource ‘Hub’ Now!
