Week 12 – The LAST Battle…

Can our heroes finally defeat the Negatron and graduate from the Wellbeing Academy?

Animation

Our twelfth and final week with our team of Wellbeing Heroes!

As the dust settles after 11 weeks of battling The Negatron, and having defeated the last part of it, the mental health heroes get ready to celebrate their victory at the wellbeing academy…

However, proving that negative energy can be persistent and can attack at ANY time, the sky begins to darken as the Negatron returns one more time!

The academy mistress rallies together our entire cast of Mental Health Heroes bringing them together to use ALL of their wellbeing superpowers to defeat the negatron, once and for all!

Task Card

Our Task Card Activity is a great tool for recapping and reviewing what has been taught throughout the children’s 11 weeks of Wellbeing training.

Each of these individual teacher guides include:

  • What the children will learn
  • Vocabulary & Questions
  • The teaching and learning sequence
  • A brief overview
  • Resources needed, both for this week and the following week

Comic Book

Our very popular E-Books have been updated to fit around the superhero theme. Each week a comic book styled E-Book will be available!

It narrates a short story in which we find out who the superhero is, what their traits are and what we can learn from them about their individual theme.

There are two books: one for Early Years/ KS1 and one for KS2.

Additional Resources

Alongside all of these amazing resources, we also have some brand new, additional resources available which can be used to enhance your teaching even further!

We have a mini activity booklet which, with a little creative cutting and folding, you can turn this single A4 page into a brilliant mini activity book; which is full of fun and simple activities to help reinforce this week’s theme.

It also acts as a great collectable resource for children too!

The Display Focus provides you with resources to add to your wellbeing display each week; including a character cut-out and quotes relating to this week’s theme!

6 Collectable cards featuring challenges and reminders related to this week’s theme.

Children should collect all 6 cards each week to build up a deck of 72 cards. Perfect for playing games like ‘SNAP’ and as a tool for children to lean on when they are feeling anxious, worried, angry or upset.

Along with all of these, there is large colouring-in sheets featuring the entire team of Wellbeing Superheroes and a set of differentiated quotes and statements.

Perfect for children to unleash their creativity! Whilst being mindful of the quotes and statements on the pages.

Graduating from Wellbeing Academy

It feels strange to already be closing another chapter in our Wellbeing saga, these past 12 weeks have just flown on by!

All of us at Teacher’s Pet HQ cannot thank every one of you enough. We’ve absolutely loved all of the messages and photos that we’ve been shared, showing different classes learning their wellbeing skills, watching the animations and getting stuck in with all the different activities!

You’ve successfully guided your class through their rigorous 11 weeks of training to become a Wellbeing Superhero, and now…

It’s Time To Celebrate!

Now, in order to get a party planned correctly, I find it best to start at the beginning. And no party can start without the right attire. And there’s only one that fits the bill, Superhero Costumes!

The Imaginator’s Costume Party

Every superhero needs a costume of their own!

Encourage the children in your class to get creative and host a non-uniform day with the theme of Superhero Costumes.

Here are just a handful of photos of people in the Tpet Office getting dressed up, ready for when we initially launched Wellbeing Superheroes all the way back in April!

Our Creative Team Leader, Kevin, dressing up as The Imaginator

As you can see from the photos above, it really doesn’t take a whole lot of time or resources to design a great costume, it’s all about using your imagination.

Using a round bin lid, cardboard and some tin foil you can create a brilliant looking shield that’s sturdy, and if you wanted to take the look even further, it’s easy enough to transfer a design onto.

Making use of some tin foil trays as knee and shin guards and either painting or drawing on them with marker pens.

And what superhero would be complete without their cape – *well… except for Spiderman, Captain America, Flash, Aquaman and I guess a few more 😅. Regardless of that, many of the most iconic superheroes have utilised the classic cape look and it’s also a great small starter activity to get people into the spirit of things.

Music Man’s Disco

What kind of party doesn’t have music?!

Music is an integral part of any party, it’s what sets the mood of everyone attending. My recommendation would be to find some clean playlists that are available on either YouTube or Spotify, or even go “old school” by today’s standards and use your own mixtape CD.

There are so many music related games that can be played during a party. Musical Chairs is of course the classic, Musical Statues, Pass The Dance (very good exercise as well), the list is absolutely endless.

Another really fun team-based game that you can do is a Music Man Quiz. Take a handful of popular songs and play random segments of the songs (making sure not to make it too easy of course), whoever can name the song gets a point, naming the singer and/or band earns extra points.

If you have a basic knowledge of software such as Audacity or anything similar you can really get creative with this. Changing the speed, pitch, playing it backwards, anything you can think of really!

Cyber Sense’s Sensory Challenges

A great way to encourage and train your memory, this game is sure to go down a treat with any class.

If you have a Tuff Tray or anything similar that can be easily covered over. Take an assortment of items from the classroom and cover them over. This may be easier with smaller groups of children so that they all have enough room to see what’s under the cover.

Give the children 30 seconds up to a minute to look at and remember as much as they can, after the timer ends cover it back up and the person who can list the most amount of correct items wins!

We hope you’ve enjoyed taking part in our Summer Wellbeing Wednesday Superheroes initiative!

Don’t forget to join us in the Autumn term with the return of Wellbeing Wednesday, where we’ll be meeting some familiar winged friends!
