Teaching Sequences are also available for blocks 1, 2 and 4. For a more detailed teaching overview, download the Block 3 Teaching Guide.
Looking for a new systematic, synthetic phonics programme for your school or classroom? Then why not take a look at our brand new SPEAK Phonics scheme.
Created by our in-house team of teachers and designers, our SPEAK Phonics programme has been designed to bring a Systematic, Synthetic approach to phonics that helps to embed learning in a fun and practical way and support you in your application of phonics, by providing teachers with the knowledge to deliver high-quality phonics teaching, whether that be to a whole class, small group or one-to-one interventions.
Block 3 is all about learning to read vowel digraphs and trigraphs and blending these sounds to read real, nonsense and multisyllabic words. Children will also recall previously read words from Block 2 to keep words embedded in the orthographic store. Children will also learn to spell words using these sounds.
In Block 3 there are 14 sounds and for each sound there are supporting resources: small card, large card, real/nonsense/multisyllabic word cards.
Our 15 Fiction and Non-Fiction texts support comprehension skills aimed at developing reading speed and accuracy and come with all the resources you need to deliver high-quality reading comprehension sessions including individual text guides.
Additional Block 3 resources include a range of games and activities to help embed learning in a fun and practical way, teaching videos to support you in your application of SPEAK Phonics in the classroom and a range of display wall frieze and other resources for your classroom, that can be used to add to the phonics experience.

Copyright update regarding 'Home Learning Resource Packs'
Our standard terms, conditions and copyright rules restrict the direct sharing of our resources through online portals, shared drives, school websites and social media. We also ask that resources are not printed and shared amongst teachers.
However we realise that due to the current climate and the nature of these home learning packs means that these rules are restricting the main purpose of the packs: helping teachers to provide a structured home learning experience for their classes.
With this in mind, this, and our other 'Home Learning Resource Packs' will be exempt from the above rules. We do however ask that the packs are not made available for PUBLIC download through any means and are only shared with your immediate colleagues and the parents of the children in your school. Where possible, please continue to direct other teachers to our website to download the resources for themselves.
These amended rules will remain in place for the duration of the school closures. Once the closures are at an end our standard copyright rules, terms and conditions will come back into place and we would expect all copies of the resources as to be removed from shared drives, parent/teacher portals and all services such as see-saw etc.
Thank you for your cooperation.
