A simple record to help you keep track and highlight gaps in any child’s phonic sounds knowledge.
Through our guidance of 5 sessions (as outlined in our teacher guide), follow the simple 5 steps A-E to help children recall and practice reading sounds and sounds within words accurately.
Then assess whether the child can read real, nonsense and multisyllabic words.
A completed version is included as well as a blank sheet for printing or photocopying.

With Year 2 children having to sit a Phonics Screening Check in the second half of the Autumn term in 2020, we have created a brilliant support pack for teachers to use to enable you to help your children achieve their full reading potential.
We have purposefully selected sounds that we think children will need to focus on.
Our pack includes baseline assessment materials and guide, small and large sound flashcards, real, nonsense and multisyllabic words for each of our sounds, words with other tricky sounds, a Teaching the Gaps record sheet and a guide on how to deliver the intervention sessions.
The guides are easy to understand and have been designed to be used by any adult. The resources are child friendly and can be organised to ‘grab and go’ at any moment.

Copyright update regarding 'Home Learning Resource Packs'
Our standard terms, conditions and copyright rules restrict the direct sharing of our resources through online portals, shared drives, school websites and social media. We also ask that resources are not printed and shared amongst teachers.
However we realise that due to the current climate and the nature of these home learning packs means that these rules are restricting the main purpose of the packs: helping teachers to provide a structured home learning experience for their classes.
With this in mind, this, and our other 'Home Learning Resource Packs' will be exempt from the above rules. We do however ask that the packs are not made available for PUBLIC download through any means and are only shared with your immediate colleagues and the parents of the children in your school. Where possible, please continue to direct other teachers to our website to download the resources for themselves.
These amended rules will remain in place for the duration of the school closures. Once the closures are at an end our standard copyright rules, terms and conditions will come back into place and we would expect all copies of the resources as to be removed from shared drives, parent/teacher portals and all services such as see-saw etc.
Thank you for your cooperation.
